Telc German exams

Unlike the Goethe Institute, Telc specializes in language exams. In exam centers worldwide, you can take the Telc A1 exam up to the Telc C1 exam. Telc C1 Hochschule is very popular.

The Telc original exams are based on the common European reference framework for languages, just like the Goethe Institute, but differ slightly from the Goethe format. For this reason, the term "Telc Deutsch" refers to the level of German knowledge required to pass a Telc exam.

You can experience the difference between the Goethe format and the Telc format yourself by completing two different sample tests from Goethe and Telc. If, for example, you are interested in a German B2 exam, we recommend that you take the Telc B2 exam and the Goethe B2 exam. Then you can choose a test format that matches your language profile.
