Goethe Exam A1
A1 is the lowest level in the European Framework of Reference for Languages. This makes the Goethe Exam A1 the easiest test at the Goethe Institute. It tests basic knowledge of reading and listening comprehension.
Our model tests are very similar to the original Start Deutsch A1 test in Goethe. When developing and creating the model tests under A1 Goethe Exam, we are guided by Goethe Start Deutsch A1. The test begins with three listening parts. In the first and third parts, in contrast to our model tests, pictures are attached to the respective multiple-choice questions in the original test. This makes it a little easier to complete the original test. When it comes to reading comprehension, each model test in our test, just like in A1 Goethe Exam, consists of four parts that only differ from the original test in terms of content. In addition, the text length for reading and listening is identical to the original test.
If you complete an Goethe A1 model test on our web portal, you will need around 45 minutes for reading and listening together. Before each part of the task, we recommend that you always read the task description carefully before you start solving the tasks.
If you have answered at least 60% of the tasks in each part correctly, you have passed that part. If you pass several model tests, you will be able to get the Goethe A1 certificate.
For more practice, you can use the model tests under Telc A1, they are created in the same format.
